Elevate a life through timely mental health support. Help someone begin with 'paid for' (by you) therapy session when they need it most.
Help Provide a Stronger Start
Therapy conversation may not solve everything but for someone carrying stress, transition, confusion, grief, identity questions, or emotional exhaustion, it can be the moment that helps them breathe, think clearly, and begin again.
At MyShiftHappens, we want to make that more reachable for people who need support but may not be able to access it right away.

Your support helps create that access.
-
It helps someone be heard earlier.
-
It helps someone find clarity sooner.
-
And it helps someone begin before life feels even heavier.
Why This Matters
Mental health strain is not rare. It is already part of everyday life in Singapore. In 2024, 15.4% of Singapore residents aged 18 to 74 experienced poor mental health. That is roughly 1 in 6 people.
Among adults in key working and family-building years:
-
17.8% of those aged 30 to 39 experienced poor mental health in 2024.
-
14.2% of those aged 40 to 49 experienced poor mental health in 2024.
-
17.3% of females reported poor mental health.
-
13.5% of males reported poor mental health.
At the same time, help-seeking still has room to grow. In 2024, 64.0% of residents said they would be willing to seek help from healthcare professionals if they were unable to cope with stress. That is an improvement from 47.8% in 2019, but it also means formal help-seeking is still not automatic for everyone.
So the issue is not only whether people are struggling. The issue is whether support is reachable when they are ready to begin.

Why 'Paid for' Sessions are Essential
Funding mental health support is essential because access can be slowed by both affordability and service capacity. For some people, cost is the first barrier. Recent Singapore reporting noted that local private therapy sessions can cost around S$180 to S$300 per session, and that this price point can be a barrier for people who would benefit from care.
For others, time is the barrier. In Singapore’s public system, the median waiting time for a new subsidised appointment in 2023 was 45 days for a psychiatrist and 42 days for a psychologist.
There is also visible workforce pressure. As of 2022, Singapore had 203 registered psychiatrists and 212 psychologists in the public sector, with plans to increase these to around 260 psychiatrists and 300 psychologists by 2030. Even so, the Government has said that simply increasing the number of psychiatrists and psychologists alone would be insufficient and unsustainable to meet rising demand.
That means this is not only a money issue, and not only a therapist shortage issue. It is an access issue.
Collective support helps bridge that gap by making it easier for someone to begin with a timely first conversation rather than delay support because of cost, uncertainty, or waiting time.

How Your Support Goes A Long Way
When someone gains access to one early therapy session, they are not just receiving an appointment slot.
They are receiving:
-
a safe place to talk
-
support at an earlier stage
-
help to make sense of what they are carrying
-
guidance on next steps
-
a better chance to respond before strain deepens
This approach aligns with Singapore’s push for early help-seeking, accessible care, and stronger community-based mental health support. Sometimes the hardest part is not the second or third session. It is the first step.
Your support helps someone take that first step sooner.
What Your Support Will Be Used For
Your support will help fund therapy access for people who may be:
-
Experiencing transition in life stages: They may be facing career shifts, separation, divorce, relocation, caregiving strain, burnout, grief, or major personal change.
-
Seeking identification amidst change: They may be asking, Who am I now? after a disruption in work, family, health, identity, or purpose.
-
Searching for meaning amidst turmoil: They may feel emotionally tired, mentally crowded, spiritually flat, or uncertain about how to move forward.
-
Desiring to redesign their outlook and life: They may not be in crisis, but they know they need a space to process, reflect, and rebuild.
